Who can live at BaseCamp?
Any full-time student, who is 18 or older, has been accepted at a Danish education institute and meets the requirements to apply to receive State Education Support can apply to live at BaseCamp.
How can I book a room?
It’s really easy! Just follow the steps described in Booking.
How can I pay?
BaseCamp accepts any kind of payment through its online platform. BaseCamp prefers direct debit payments, but also accepts credit cards / debit cards and bank transfers. There might occur a transfer fee for bank transfers and various types of credit card payments taken.
What documents do I need?
A copy of your passport (or local ID card for EU-nationals) and a university acceptance letter or copy of the student card if you are already studying.
What is a guarantor?
A guarantor is a person who will be held responsible in case the tenant is not able to pay what is stipulated in the terms and conditions of the tenancy agreement.
How soon after the leasing process will I get information about the check in?
Once your signed tenancy agreement and deposit payment are received, the administration team of BaseCamp will contact you within 3 working days. Your actual arrival will be planned in order to ensure a smooth start at BaseCamp.
Can I choose my room in the building?
We will gladly note such requests on any reservation. We can confirm room category and rates, but specific room numbers will only be given upon your arrival, subject to availability.
Is it possible to visit the room and have a tour of the premises before signing the contract?
Yes. The administration team will be more than pleased to show you around BaseCamp prior to your signing. Please note that you need to have a confirmed appointment first.
What is the contract length?
BaseCamp contracts are open, unlimited contracts that run for the duration of your education or unless terminated by either party (a 3-months’ notice period must be observed). To enhance the social community of BaseCamp, full-year students are given priority.
What is the cancellation policy?
The termination period varies from country to country. Please get in touch with us to get specific information. The termination period will also be stipulated in your tenancy agreement. Please note that you will need to move out 14 days prior to the end of your tenancy. This period is paid by you and will be used to prepare the room for the next tenant. Rental payment is required until the end of tenancy and is not considered to be deducted from the deposit.
Is there a deposit fee? Do I get this back upon moving out?
When finalizing your reservation, we require a deposit of 3 months in addition to full payment for the first month. Your deposit will be held until the end of your tenancy. If the room is delivered in the same condition you received it, we will refund the full deposit. The deposit will be refunded, if applicable, within 6 weeks from officially tenancy end.
