Look for things out of the ordinary and dive into the new culture.
Other people can be a great inspiration. Take these BaseCampers, for example, as they
explore the opportunities of their surroundings.
An adventurous group of BaseCampers have come together to start a Parkour team. They meet every Wednesday in the city to crawl, skip and jump from walls to rooftops and ledges. Buildings and people are treated with respect, but there is little respect for gravity.
Some smart BaseCamp guys bought a Start-up Guide book in order to find the events with free buffets. It is a great success. And if that wasn’t enough, two of the guys have managed to get a student job in a couple of those Start-ups.
Who cares about a bit of bad weather when it comes to celebrating your results? Three fearless BaseCamp students have made it a tradition to throw themselves into the sea whenever they have completed an exam. This is usually a pretty cold experience. But what the heck, exams are over!
Everyone wants to be on the winning team, even though you are just a member of the team’s fan club. A group af BaseCampers meet at the stadium every time their favourite football club kicks off. They drink a beer or two, and share the team’s ups and downs with each other. This fan club does not follow a premier league team, but one from the lower divisions. Still, things can get very emotional!
If you are crazy about science fiction, why not start a club of like-minded buffs? That’s exactly what Nicola from Italy did, and it turned out that there were a whole bunch of BaseCampers who shared his interest. Now, they meet up once a week, talking about space travel and watching science fiction movies together. They are also saving up money. The dream is a trip to the USA to visit NASA.
LOOK WHAT I FOUND
When living and studying in a foreign city, you are no longer an outsider. You will see fantastic things that ordinary tourists do not experience. Just look around …
In Lodz you will find a former Gestapo prison with a very special wall. It’s a very unique thing to see.
Nature is more powerful than anything alive. In Potsdam you can find this old Windmill to remind yourself of this.
This old restored building is one of the finest in Lodz, but you might be of another opinion?
Find this amazing piece of art on one
of Lodz’ many buildings. But you have to be
quick, as the city is changing quickly.
Francesco loves roaming around “Dyrehaven”, not far from Copenhagen. Here, he can get up close to the wild deer.
Yoav collects pictures of doors. In Copenhagen, he has come across a lot of beautiful doors, but the most beautiful one of all is the blue one.
You can find a kind of magical peace at The Assistens Cemetery in the middle of vibrant Copenhagen. Matilda often takes a break here.
You can have your own BaseCamp Buddy from the very first day. He or she will even pick you up in the airport when you arrive. Your BaseCamp Buddy will show you around BaseCamp and the city, and make you feel welcome in your new home.
BaseCamp offers fully furnished rooms with high-end comfort for students. Located near everything, and far from ordinary. Your objective is a degree. Our objective is to make your life a little bit easier and a whole lot more interesting.
